HILARY ROOTS (or Cleo)
• Isle of Pines welcomes visitors of renown...

An elegant, luxury cruise ship, the Crystal Harmony, called at the island for the day on September 7th. It was on its way from San Francisco to Sydney, for the Olympic Games. Among the 845 passengers delighted to discover the unspoilt island, were eight former Olympic champions. They included Nadia Comaneci, wonder of gymnastic wonders at the Montreal Games in 1976, where she won 3 gold medals and 2 silver, and at the Moscow Games in 1980, where she took away 2 gold and 2 silver.
